rowan and willow CLASSes

As in Year 2 and Year 6, we currently have two Year 4 classes. Miss Jones is the class teacher for Rowan class and Mr Pearce is the teacher for Willow class. Please click on the following “This Is Me” document to find out more information about each teacher:

Key Weekly Information

All children in KS2 are expected to read every day and have their reading record book signed. Children can also earn prizes and book rewards when they do this.

Homework will be set every Friday and will then need to be completed and handed in by the following Friday.

PE will now be every Tuesday and Thursday. Children need to wear their full PE kit (including house t-shirts and appropriate footwear) to school on the day they have PE. Both classes will also have swimming every Wednesday for this term. Please can they bring in their full swimming kit with them to school (including a towel) on this day.


Term 1

What a great start Year 4 have had. They’ve been learning all about the Roman’s and started to read their new class novel, ‘Charlotte’s Web’. Please have a click on the following link for more information:


Term 2

There was a huge difference to Year 4 this term! The class split into two and we welcomed our new class known as Willow. The children adapted so so well to this new change. Please have a read of all that they have been doing as two separate classes:

Term 3

Year 4 started their weekly swimming lessons this term and have really enjoyed them! It’s been great to hear what they have been learning on their lessons. They’ve also spent time learning about the Anglo Saxons and Scots and please click on the following to find out more:

Term 4

As you probably know, this term was all about celebrating World Book Day. The children loved coming into school dressed as their favourite superhero as here at Badock’s we chose to focus on them for the day. They also had a visit from the Explorer Dome which was just fabulous as always! It’s been a very busy term for Year 4 and we’d love you to read on the link below to find out more:

Term 5

This term our Year 4 classes have had plenty of visitors: Our Artist in Residence to discuss ideas for our school mural and Anthony Burt, author of ‘The Animal Lighthouse’. The children have loved meeting them and taking part in the different activities set up for them. They have also spent a lot more time on sport this term taking part in cricket and dodgeball.
